In recent years, Shanghai has been endeavoring to improve the popularization of science within the public sphere and is actively improving the base system of scientific education while at the same time enhancing the education experience and performance of public venues. At present, Shanghai has one comprehensive science education venue, the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum, 47 science public venues on special subjects, and 206 fundamental public science education bases.
